On Visiting The Tate Britain in London

I took a day out to go and visit The 80s: Photographing Britain exhibition at the Tate Britain gallery in Pimlico, London

I have realised recently that writing articles is not always me. I am at heart an artist and I have a passion for photography as well as drawing.

So, I during my holiday over the festive period I took myself off to see The 80s: Photographing Britain exhibition and found time to use my iPhone and camera to explore what is a wonderful space within which to display art.

It is a gallery I am very familiar with and used to visit many times whilst studying my Fine Art Sculpture degree in my younger years.

I’m just going to let my photos do the talking here.

The Tate Britain has a stunning central staircase that always fascinates me, especially underneath it with the wonderful arches that seems to go on endlessly in the basement.

Above this central staircase is a beautiful glass dome that you can see from the staircase, but also you get a wonderful view of it from the members cafe.

As I was visiting the photographic exhibition, I just stood still and observed people engrossed in the images. I felt comfortable taking photos within a photography exhibition.

I used may Canon EOS 7D Mark II with a 50mm lens, again just quietly observing people as they wandered through the rooms of the exhibition

One of my most favourite parts of Tate Britain is the JMW Turner gallery. One can easily get totally immersed in his huge, powerful paintings.
